Designer Sarah Lewis is the heart and soul of Hiouchi Jewels.
Hiouchi, pronounced "Hi-You-Chi",
is a Native American word meaning 'Blue Waters'.
Born and raised in upstate New York, she has had a passion for jewelry since she was a small child, and her artistic journey began with glasswork. Sarah's love for working with metals and stones ignited while living in Arizona for a few years, before returning to the east coast to pursue her BFA in Metals & Jewelry from the Savannah College of Art & Design.
Sarah began her career designing accessories for boho-chic brand Free People, before turning her focus to her own business. In 2010, Sarah launched her jewelry collection and opened Adorn Boutique & Showroom in Philadelphia. After 5 fabulous years, she closed her brick & mortar shop, launched her brand Tribe Jewelry, and re-located to the small town of Hiouchi, in the majestic Redwoods of Northern California. Drawing endless inspiration from nature's beauty, Sarah rebranded her business to Hiouchi Jewels, to honor the time she spent living and creating in this special place. Sarah recently made another move, to Denver, Colorado, and feels that with the name Hiouchi Jewels, she carries the magic of the Redwoods with her on her next adventure.
Sarah considers Hiouchi Jewels to be a natural expression of herself and her aesthetic beliefs. She is inspired by fashion trends, but applies them to her collections in unique ways, staying true to her modern bohemian aesthetic. She is grateful to be able to work with Crystals & Stones and to share her style with the world.
